On April 22nd, 2024, Meta implemented a crucial update that changed how content creators stream live to Facebook Groups. Previously, it was possible to connect with API directly, but today, you can broadcast to Facebook Groups using FeelThere by utilizing RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol).
Important Note: You can only broadcast to one group at a time, but in addition to the group, you can also stream live to your personal profile and the pages you manage on Facebook. Additionally, depending on the package you selected and its limitations, you can broadcast to any other social platform you choose.
Step 1: Log In to FeelThere: Open the FeelThere app on your device and log in to your account. On the Broadcast Hub page, select “Connect to Custom RTMP.”
Step 2: Create Your Live Post on Facebook: Go to your Facebook Group and click the “Create Post” section. Select Live Video: Choose the “Live Video” option to create a live stream event.
Step 3: Get Stream URL and Key: Under the live video setup, select the “Use Stream Key” option. Copy the provided RTMP stream URL and stream key. Paste the Facebook RTMP stream URL into the server URL field, and paste the stream key into the stream key field and press "Done".
Step 4: Start Your Live Broadcast: Once your RTMP server details are entered, click on the “Go Live” button on FeelThere. The app will switch to the camera page, and when you are ready tap the “Go Live” button. Your live broadcast will now begin streaming to your Facebook Group through the RTMP server.
Step 5: End the Stream on FeelThere: To end your live session, press the “Live” button. A modal will appear: "End your stream? By clicking ‘Yes’, you will end your current live stream." You must choose between “Yes” and “No” to confirm.
Facebook automatically saves your live broadcast, making it accessible for later viewing or sharing. You can share the saved video in your Facebook Group/Profile/Pages to engage with members who missed the live session.
