Facebook Live remains one of the most powerful tools for connecting with your audience in real-time. Whether you're hosting Q&As, sharing live performances, or engaging with your followers, the versatility of Facebook Live lets you broadcast from a mobile device, computer, or even via high-quality streaming software.

Broadcasting Live on Facebook: Your Options Facebook Live offers three main ways to broadcast:

  1. Mobile Devices: You can easily go live from your Android or iOS devices, making it ideal for on-the-go content.
  2. Computer: With built-in cameras and microphones, live broadcasts from a computer offer enhanced settings and control.
  3. Streaming Software: For those looking to up their game, using streaming software with a stream key allows for high-quality, professional live video.

You can broadcast from your profile or page, invite friends to join, and even share your live videos within groups or live events. This flexibility helps content creators and businesses engage with their audience wherever they are.

New Requirements for Facebook Live in 2024 Starting June 10th, 2024, Facebook has introduced new requirements to ensure quality and accountability across the platform. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Account Age: Your account must be at least 60 days old before you can go live.
  2. Follower Minimum: Pages and professional profiles need to have at least 100 followers to start a live broadcast.
  3. Page Access: To go live from a Page, you need specific access, either through Facebook access or task access, to create content.

These new rules are part of Facebook's ongoing efforts to align with industry standards and ensure a safer and more reliable live streaming experience for both creators and viewers.

Audience Settings: Control Who Watches Facebook Live offers flexibility when it comes to audience control:

  1. When broadcasting from your profile, you can select who can view your live stream.
  2. After the broadcast is posted, you can adjust the audience settings.
  3. Live broadcasts from a Page are always public, and this setting cannot be changed, ensuring that your live content reaches a wider audience without restrictions.

Facebook Live Policies As with all content on Facebook, live broadcasts must adhere to Facebook's Community Standards and Terms of Service:

  1. If a broadcast is reported for violating these standards, it will be reviewed and may be deleted if found in breach.
  2. Hosts, guests, and viewers can report any live stream they believe goes against these guidelines.
  3. If you choose not to post your live broadcast, the recording will be deleted unless it was flagged for a policy violation.
